Work Gloves
Nearly
all construction and industrial jobs need hand protection of some kind, and
this is typically through a pair of work gloves. These come in several
varieties ranging from leather to cotton knit to coated to rubber work gloves,
with winter weather insulated options a possibility for those needing to work
outdoors. Abrasion and puncture protection is often the goal of such gloves,
and each pair should have a numerical rating for the amount of protection it
gives.
Leather
work gloves are one of the more common methods for hand protection. This can
include a glove with a leather palm and rubber cuff or double leather for more
abrasion protection. If you need a glove that gives all-around protection from
leather, however, drivers’ work gloves provide this level.
Aside
from cloth materials, another type of glove is needed for chemical handling and
medical employees. These are typically rubber work gloves, but the materials
actually used for the gloves include latex, neoprene, and nitrile. While latex
is the common material for more disposable gloves, neoprene and nitrile are
strong enough to protect against abrasions and punctures and harsh chemicals,
as well.
